Modern Niagara holds second annual Community Day

On October 4th, Modern Niagara volunteers came together for the company’s second annual Community Day, a day where staff dedicate their time and effort to support local charities. This year, more than 500 volunteers from the field and the office lent their hands and dedicated over 4,064 volunteer hours to support 33 staff-recommended charities across the country. Together, they engaged in a wide range of activities including preparing meals and sorting food, planting trees, raking leaves, cleaning shorelines, among other activities. Cities covered included Vancouver and surrounding areas, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto and surrounding areas, Kingston, and Ottawa.

“Another successful Community Day is in the books,” said Chris Hill, Modern Niagara’s chief operating officer. “I couldn’t be more proud of what each team accomplished!”.

The Modern Niagara team has also received positive feedback from its community partners. “Thank you so much to the team from Modern Niagara who volunteered their time… braving the cooling temperatures doing yard cleanup, turning soil, and cleaning gutters. They also organized the garage and gave the youth rec room a fresh coat of paint. Thank you for helping us keep our youth’s spaces clean and beautiful!” – YESS (Youth Empowerment and Support Services)

Last fall, Modern Niagara held its first Community Day, where over 400 field and office staff dedicated their time and effort to over 25 charities across the country. Charities included The Mustard Seed, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, and more.
