Modern Niagara employees give back to their communities on Community Day

October 7, 2021 – On September 24, 2021, Modern Niagara held its annual Community Day, where members of the Modern Niagara team from across the country come together to support the communities where we live, learn, work, and heal.

“We truly believe in community engagement and support – not just in monetary support, but by showing up and working together. This year, it’s so nice to be all together and see our work come to life in ways that support our environment and our communities.” – Hannah Ireland, Program Coordinator (CSR), Modern Niagara.

Together, over 350 volunteers visited 23 sites in 7 regions to support charitable organizations including the Calgary Community Kitchen, Grow Calgary, the Alberta Animal Rescue Society, the Edmonton Food Bank, the Leduc Boat Club, BGC Canada, the Kanata Food Cupboard, the Richmond Conservation Area, Ride for Dad, Ruddy-Shenkman Hospice, Food for Life, Ronald McDonald House Charities, The Good Sheppard, Riverwood Conservatory, BCSPCA, Covenant House Vancouver, Habitat for Humanity, and the North Shore Women’s Centre.

“Our communities are at the core of the work we do”, said Brad McAninch, CEO, Modern Niagara. “They’re the spaces where we live, learn, work, and heal – in supporting these organizations, we’re giving back to the communities that support us. Thank you to everyone who helped pack boxes, clean up outdoor spaces, and provided valuable support and help to these community organizations!”
