Announcing our newest location – Southwestern Ontario
Modern Niagara is proud to officially announce its plans to expand into Southwestern Ontario as part of our long–term vision of servicing Canada’s major markets. Sean Smithson, Vice President – Area Manager of Southwestern Ontario, recently shared Modern’s plan for their newest region and highlighted the major benefits of this expansion.
“With the growth into Southwestern Ontario, our talented and hardworking people will have greater opportunities, we will be able to better service our clients, and our long–term goals and vision continue to be realized,” Sean stated.
Sean Smithson has been at Modern Niagara for nine years and is currently running our Special Projects based in Toronto, while also supporting our Special Projects Teams nationally. Sean touched on how the expansion will both enhance Modern’s servicing abilities for our current clients in the region and maximize growth in the region to procure and execute work with excellence, both of which align with Modern’s vision.
“We’ve been working in Southwestern Ontario for quite some time now, and have recently put an increased focus in this area. That focus has shown that our clients are growing in the region, and this expansion will allow us to service their needs and grow along with them. Southwestern Ontario also has a growing and densifying population that creates demands for construction and the services we provide.” Sean said.
In addition, Sean elaborated on the great career opportunities this expansion will provide for Modern employees and our skilled tradespeople.
“There are many opportunities for our staff as we grow and expand, we have a lot of great people, a lot of great leaders, and a lot of people looking to take on greater challenges,” Sean said.
“All these different elements and possibilities in Southwestern Ontario presented us with a great opportunity at this moment in time to do something different and put a greater focus on the area.”
On a personal note, Sean is also a resident of Southwestern Ontario and is glad to see Modern growing their regional presence where many Modern employees already live.
“I grew up in Southwestern Ontario and I still live here, I’m passionate about the area and being a part of the business community. Having a local presence here is important for our clients and our team. People are always more passionate when they are working closer to home.”
When asked about the next steps, Sean affirmed that the overall objective in the next five years is to densify in the geographic regions that make up Southwestern Ontario by performing our four core services in the commercial, institutional, healthcare, and light industrial sectors while providing exceptional service to our clients.
We look forward to providing you with future updates on the activity in the region and stay tuned for updates on our new office location and the services we will be providing.
