Phase I of the redevelopment expansion of the Halifax Infirmary site, part of the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre is officially underway. Once complete, the new acute-care facility will have 216 beds, 16 operating rooms, an intensive care unit, and a new emergency department. Modern Niagara was awarded the mechanical design-build subcontract for the project.
