Community Day 2023
In the spirit of our core values – teamwork, initiative, determination, passion, and professionalism – we are proud to announce that Modern Niagara will be hosting our annual Community Day this year on Friday, September 15th, 2023.
Community Day is one workday where employees dedicate their time and effort to supporting a local charity in their respective communities. This year marks the fifth staging of this incredible event, where we join forces to make a lasting impact. Last year, a total of 345 Modern Niagara employees volunteered at over 32 sites across Canada. This year’s Community Day promises to be even more special as teams come together once again to provide meaningful support to our communities.

Update for Field staff
Participation is voluntary. And while details in terms of how we promote maximum participation for both field and office staff are still being worked out, our intent is that this is a day for all of Modern Niagara staff, and that we will ensure, where necessary, that all staff are paid for a full weeks work. Site leads will also work with GCs to ensure logistics on how to manage sites for the day is fully handled as well as generate excitement on this fun team-building opportunity
Last updated: August 18, 2021Depending on which organization you signed up for your day of impact will vary. A typical day would include:
- group meets at charity/organization at designated time (typically between 8am – 8:30am)
- introduction of organization
- outline the project(s) for the day and get to work!
- stop for needed breaks / lunch
- wrap up projects (typically between 4pm – 4:30 pm)
- Important – have fun!
Yes – projects will still go ahead if the weather is not great that day (ie – rain). We do take into consideration severe weather conditions and do not put our staff or the organization’s staff/volunteers in danger. That being said, be sure to watch the weather forecast and dress appropriately.
