Saskatoon’s civic operations centre is a 180-acre, 450,000 sq. ft. site built to replace and relocate the city’s 100-year old transit facility – known as the “bus barns” – out of Caswell Hill. In the future, the centre will also be home to Saskatoon’s city yards.
Modern Niagara provided all mechanical systems for this project, including heating, cooling, plumbing, ductwork, insulation, and balancing. Our Building Controls division also provided the HVAC controls for the building.
The mechanical work included rooftop air handling units (AHUs), which were heli-lifted in 21 sections (photo).
The project was completed two weeks ahead of schedule and on budget. Read the news story.
This site is targeting LEED certification.
