Transamerica Life Tower
Location: Ontario – Greater Toronto
Market Sector: Commercial Office
Delivery Method: Bid and Spec
Traditionally a condominium developer, Menkes turned to us for the skills and experience required for the construction of large office towers. The result is a 22-storey building of AAA office space that has remained well occupied in part due to the mechanical solutions, which generate competitive operating costs.
We provided all of the mechanical work on the project, including plumbing, heating, HVAC ductwork, HVAC controls, and fire protection systems. Some notable mechanical features include:
- Some of the largest suspended storm and sanitary piping in Canada, visible from the street.
- A large radiant panel that provides perimter heating.
- Carefully planned construction of the main mechanical room located at the top of the building envelope.
We carefully planned mechanical construction to meet the completion date by prefabricating the entire mechanical room before the structure was built.
The projected was completed on time and on budget, thanks in large part to exceptional teamwork between our team and trades that had not traditionally performed this type of work.
