The renovation of the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) was a four-year partnership during which we cost-effectively performed retrofit work to multiple spaces in the existing structure. We are proud to have been an integral part of the rejuvenation of this world-class attraction, all accomplished while the ROM remained open to the public.
We worked both ahead of and during the construction of the Michael Lee Chin Crystal addition. This included the installation of a new central chiller plant into a very small space. Working carefully with vendors, we completed a three-dimensional CAD model of the entire system prior to construction to demonstrate that it would fit.
The resulting central plant provides the critical cooling necessary to maintain the constant relative humidity required to preserve historical artifacts. We also installed some terminal equipment designed to maintain the micro-climates of display cases to incredible levels of accuracy.
