The upgrade to the Capri pump station included new domestic water process piping in the station, as well as removal and replacement of piping within a valve chamber on the station’s exterior. Revisions to sanitary, domestic, and storm piping were also provided to allow for an upgraded washroom and irrigation system.
As with other pump station projects we have completed for the City of Calgary, the 8”, 10” and 24” process piping was required to meet the city’s strict NSF61 rated epoxy coated pipe specification. This meant that careful planning and fabrication off site was required, since modification to the piping once it was coated would not be possible.
Once existing conditions were exposed, several modifications to the station’s existing sanitary and storm piping were also required in order for the building to meet Calgary’s plumbing code. Modern Niagara provided assistance with existing conditions, as well as providing design and consulting services to aid the client in coming to a prompt and long-term solution for its plumbing and sanitary systems.
With the collaborated efforts of the consultant and general contractor, Modern Niagara was able to complete this pump station and provide the city with another quality installation.
