Modern Niagara Staff Show Their Skills

Three of our staff members have recently represented Modern Niagara in skills competitions – we’re proud of each and every one of them!

Chris Yeo (Toronto) recently won the Al Defoe award at the 2017 Toronto Sheet Metal Apprentice Awards. He was honoured for being top apprentice in this year’s graduating class. Chris served his apprenticeship with us and is currently working in our Toronto sheet metal shop.

Kyle Horne (B.C) was honoured with two gold in recent skills competitions. The steamfitter apprentice based in B.C. received gold certification at a recent Skills B.C. competition, as well as gold at the National Skills Canada competition in Winnipeg. This is the second consecutive year that Kyle has represented B.C. on the national stage.

In Edmonton, Rebecca Galley competed in the Alberta Skills competition. A member of Local 8 in Edmonton, Rebecca is currently in her third year of apprenticeship. She joined Modern Niagara in 2017 and is a valued employee in our shop fabrication work.
