Health & Safety

As a national electrical contractor and mechanical contractor, Health & Safety is front and centre for us at Modern Niagara. Since we first opened our doors as a small neighbourhood business in 1958, the health and safety of our community—employees and the public—has always been the first priority. Now, more than 50 years later and with world-class mechanical projects under way all across Canada, things haven’t changed.

Safety Culture

Our goal at Modern Niagara is not simply to create a safety program but a safety culture. While all staff—executives, managers, supervisors, and employees—have a role that they are expected to fulfill when it comes to Health & Safety, Modern Niagara also has a well-established full-time Safety Department. Headed by our Vice-President, Employee Health & Safety, the department includes full-time Safety Coordinators across the country.

We invest heavily in effective processes, procedures, and ongoing training programs. We ensure that our field staff has the tools and protective equipment to keep them safe. And we always comply with all legislation and regulations.

Joint Responsibility

We share detailed Health & Safety reports with staff on a monthly basis so that everyone is able to jointly share in this critical responsibility. This commitment is part of our culture here at Modern Niagara, where preventative teamwork results in a health and safety record well above industry standards.

If you’d like to work for a company that doesn’t just create a safety program but provides a safety culture, we encourage you to view our current job openings.
